For College of Business student Souzan Aljamous, returning to college wasn't just about earning a degree. It was about finishing a dream she began years ago.

After leaving Syria before completing her studies, raising four children, and building a new life in the United States, Souzan chose to start again. Today, she is pursuing her BBA in Accounting at UM-Dearborn, proving that determination and ambition can overcome even the greatest obstacles. Her story reflects the resilience and perseverance that define so many adult learners in our community.

As an adult learner, Souzan's journey is a powerful reminder that it's never too late to pursue your goals, rewrite your story, and put your dreams into practice.

University of Michigan President Domenico Grasso has appointed Gabriella Scarlatta as the next chancellor of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, subject to regental approval at their May meeting. Her appointment is expected to take effect on May 22.

A Supply Chain Management student in the College of Business, Claire is making an impact across campus through her leadership and dedication to building strong, inclusive teams. She serves as President of the Supply Chain Association, has represented UM-Dearborn in a national case competition, and is Captain of the women’s softball team.

Next up, Claire will begin her professional journey with Cummins Inc. as a Material Planner.
