Our 5th graders explored a big question: How can we make water healthy for all living things? 💧🌎

They took their learning outside the classroom during the “Trip of a Drip” program at the University of Michigan–Dearborn, where they learned about the Rouge River watershed and how our actions impact water.

They also learned about Mari Copeny (Little Miss Flint) and how she spoke up to bring awareness to the Flint water crisis.

To wrap it up, students designed and tested their own water filters, putting their learning into action!

🌟 Kindergarten Engineers in Action! 🎢✨
Our young scientists spent the week building their very own roller coasters using the Science & Engineering Practices!

They started by asking questions and exploring materials around the classroom to create simple models. From there, they teamed up to plan and design a full roller coaster using cardboard, masking tape, and pipe insulation.

After lots of testing, tweaking, and redesigning, they proudly created a working prototype! 🙌

We love watching our littlest learners think critically, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life. 💡💛
