At this year’s Susan B. Anthony Awards, we celebrated two powerhouse professors who are uplifting our campus and community.

🌟 Dr. Amy Brainer advocates for equity and joy through her leadership in LGBTQ+ studies, award-winning research—including a groundbreaking book on marriage-based immigration—and her work developing an oral history project about Women’s and Gender Studies at UM-Dearborn.

🌱 Dr. Carmel Price is committed to elevating underserved communities through research in public health, education, and poverty. She has featured over 21 community partners and numerous undergraduate students in her work, and has co-founded the College and University Pantries (CUP) research team and the Environmental Health Research to Action project.

🤝 Together, their passion for advocacy, teaching, and community engagement makes UM-Dearborn stronger, braver, and more inclusive for all.
