GHA Families! As you know, we partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan: Dick & Sandy Dauch Campus. If you are looking to place your scholars in their after-school program Now is the Time to Register! GHA buses scholars from the school to the Club after school, Monday through Friday. This service, as well as enrollment in the Boys and Girls Club has limited space and is honored on a first come first serve basis.

Parents MUST register their scholars at the club themselves before being added to the bus after school.

Scholars who previously register MUST register again. Scholars are not automatically re-registered for new school years.

Summer's almost a wrap! 🌞 Next week marks the end of summer school, and before you know it, students will be heading back to the classroom. Mark your calendars because GHA, like all of the surrounding school districts, is starting the school year on August 24th for grades 1st–8th and August 31st for grades PK and K! 📅

Here's some exciting news we're thrilled to share: we've listened to your feedback and made meaningful changes to our calendar! 🎉 This year, we're cutting way back on half-day Fridays. Instead of 38 half-days, we now have just 10! That's 26 fewer half-day Fridays, which means more consistent instructional time for students and more predictable scheduling for your work week. 💼 We're keeping a few half days to support our staff's professional development and parent-teacher conferences, but the reduction gives everyone more stability throughout the year.

We are kicking off the school year with GHA Parent Orientation and Open House on Friday, August 21st from 12 pm – 2 pm, and we'd love to see you there!

This is your chance to meet your child's teachers 👋, grab important information like classroom assignments, driveline numbers 🚗, meet your child’s teacher, and pre-register for afterschool activities 🎯. Plus, there's plenty of time to mingle with staff, students, and fellow parents — it's a wonderful way to kick off the school year together! ✨

🎉 Summer EBT Benefits Are Available! 🎉
Global Heights Academy participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. It qualifies for the Summer EBT Program, which helps eligible families purchase groceries during the summer months when school is not in session.
🛒 What is Summer EBT?
Summer EBT provides grocery benefits to eligible families with school-aged children to help ensure access to healthy meals throughout the summer.
📋 Important Reminder
All families should complete a School Meal Application each year, regardless of income. This helps ensure students are considered for:
✅ Free Meal Benefits
✅ Reduced Meal Benefits (if applicable)
✅ Summer EBT Benefits
🌞 2026 Summer EBT Benefits
Benefits are currently being distributed.
📬 If you have not received an eligibility notice by mail by June 8, 2026, please contact us. If no notice is received, you may need to submit an application through MDHHS.

Our final attendance challenge was Water Wars, and a special thank you to the Dearborn Heights Firefighters for stopping by and helping everyone cool off on this beautiful day. We appreciate your support in making this a fun and memorable experience for our students!
