Michigan is still the hardest hit state of reported Cyclospora cases. While there are signs that nationally new cases are slow declining, it hasn’t fully ended.

👉What it is: a single-cell parasite that infects the intestines and causes diarrhea. People get it by eating food or drinking water contaminated with the parasite. In the U.S., outbreaks are frequently linked to raw, imported produce like cilantro, basil, and fresh berries.
