Thank you to our Henry Ford II Honors Program students for such an engaging, candid, and fun conversation about their hopes and expectations for me as a new president. I have truly enjoyed every interaction I’ve had with our students since joining the campus community and find tremendous joy in listening to their stories, celebrating their success, and learning how Henry Ford College is helping to prepare them for the future.

Macomb Community College President Dr. Lori Gonko and I were in attendance to cheer on our respective women’s volleyball teams at tonight’s game in Macomb. The Henry Ford Hawks came up short but played with tenacity and class, representing our school with pride and integrity. Cheers to Coach Chambers and her assistants for the positive impact they are having on our athletes both inside and outside the classroom. I am proud of them all!

The Detroit Promise scholarship provides a tuition free pathway to a degree or technical certificate. Henry Ford College helps provide the coaching and support systems to ensure our students are set up for success. I sat down with HFC student Mariam Dawi today for my first interview with The Mirror News, the official student publication of Henry Ford College.

As a member of our Henry Ford II Honors Program, Mariam is pursing a career in software engineering with plans to transfer to Eastern Michigan University or the University of Michigan. Both would be lucky to have her.

Thank you for a such fun conversation today, Mariam! I continue to enjoy interacting with all of our outstanding students and am committed to opening and maintaining strong lines of communication between the college administration and the students we serve.

The Hammond Planetarium, located in the Henry Ford College Science Building (Building J) on main campus, is one of the many gems within our campus community (and one of my favorite places on campus).

NASA Solar System Ambassadors Timothy Campbell and Liam Finn will be presenting eight shows in the planetarium throughout the Fall 2026 semester, from mid-September through mid-December. All are free and open to the public.

If you've ever looked to the night sky and wondered about the world beyond our pale blue dot, I encourage you to visit campus and enjoy this unique and engaging experience.

Under the leadership of student liaisons Easton Socola and Iman Soubra, Henry Ford College is the first community college to have joined the United Michigan Student Governments (UMSG), an alliance of student governments across Michigan focused on college affordability, housing, and improving campus conditions by directly connecting student leaders with lawmakers.

I'm proud of the active and engaged students we have at Henry Ford College and pleased to see that members of our Student Council are using their voices to advocate for higher education within the halls of government.

Keep up the great work, Easton and Iman. I've got your back!

Dr. Cristina Bailey works to support our students in the School of Health and Human Services as they prepare for rewarding careers in the healthcare industry. Henry Ford College has a number of partnerships with major employers in the area and we’ve recently expanded our degree offerings with the addition of a new Healthcare Administration associate degree this semester.
