Magic Carpet Theatre

It’s always cool to support live theatre. A few longtime MCT supporters attended “The Thorn,” last night at the Fox Theatre, and snagged a photo with the cast. Theatre is a powerful & creative way to help people experience Scripture.

Shout out to Allie Faudel, who currently is understudying four different shows, along with her own roles in “Surrender.” So grateful to have Allie on our team!

Happy Fall! We’re enjoying some rehearsals outdoors…including this one at Camp Dearborn yesterday. We even had a little “pumpkin” helping us out!

“Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament is the most holy, sanctified and gorgeous church we have ever had the honor and privilege of performing our beautiful show in!
Giving our gift to God while being in a gift to us!” ✝️
-Lise Lacasse

And on the Feast of the Archangels- a shout out to Percy Stamps, who created the voiceover for the Angel Gabriel. He said he grew up in the area and played football on the lawn, alongside the Cathedral, when he was a kid! It was his first time inside the Cathedral and first time to see Surrender.

It was a blessing and a gift to share our ministry at the Cathedral. Thank you for hosting us! Thank you to the Catholic Foundation for their support and to Divine Child for donating the buses to bring students to the Cathedral. Many thanks to everyone who came to experience “Surrender” in this sacred setting.

We've had some memorably holy days with Magic Carpet Theatre as they helped us imagine the very real people who appear in Sacred Scripture - and who are our forerunners in faith. Pictured here are the theater cast members in their 'street clothes' and part of the audience from this morning's 'student' show: lovely students and leaders of Christ the King Catholic School. Today we were also pleased to welcome students from St. Mary Catholic School - Mount Clemens and some homeschoolers!

What a privilege to return to the Cathedral tonight to rehearse for tomorrow’s performance. The three of us met there fifteenth years ago, working on a musical version of the Living Stations. Barbie was the costume designer, Catherine- the director, and Amy played Mary Magdalen. It’s a blessing to share our gifts for the Lord, and once again in this extraordinary space.

One more shout out to Trott Law who had a Book Drive so we could hand out hundreds of new books to numerous schools after our shows. We had one grateful teacher tell us of a classroom that had such decrepit books, that they were like “rags.” We really stocked her up! And also filled an empty “Little Library” in front of one school. The literature & themes from our show are reinforced by physical books that were donated. Thank you, Trott Law!
