I will not be an official board member until I take my oath of office in January, but I am attending my first Board retreat today and tomorrow, as well as a welcome lunch in my honor… so I am having very “first day of school” vibes this morning!

The 2 day board retreat agenda is on Simbli. Today will be training and tomorrow will be presentations on camera.

Thank you to Dr. Sauce & the parents and community members who came out last night!

Thank you to the City of Tucker - Government and Mayor Anne Lerner for welcoming Interim Superintendent Dr. Norman C. Sauce III and members of the leadership team to Monday night’s City Council meeting.

Dr. Sauce, Chief of Access & Opportunity Dr. Triscilla Weaver, and Chief of Community Engagement and Innovative Partnerships Dr. Cherisse Campbell shared updates on the opening of the 2026–27 school year, enrollment, district goals, guiding principles, and the Student Assignment Project.

We appreciate the opportunity to connect with our local partners and continue working in support of DeKalb students, families, and communities.
