Kids World Child Care

Kids World Child Care Professional Child Care in a Family Home Setting We serve children from birth to 12 years of age. I graduated with honors from St. Ambrose University, Davenport.

Kids World Child Care offers a child-directed educational program that strives to meet the developmental needs of each individual child. About Me (Kathy Sampson)
I have been a registered child care provider since 1990. IA, with a B.A. in elementary education with endorsements in Pre-School and Kindergarten. I also concentrated my studies in teaching reading, and am one course away from having a re

ading endorsement. Since my graduation, I have continued my education in child care practices, in the following areas: Health and Safety, Nutrition, Child Growth and Development, Child Observation and Assessment, Interactions with Children, Learning Experiences and Environment, Families and Communities, Program Management, and Professional Development. DHS requires that I take a minimum of 12 hours of training in these categories each year. ChildNet requires a minimum of 16 hours of training annually, and The Quality Rating System, at level 5, requires 22 to 32 hours of training annually. Documentation of the training I have received is available on request. In addition, I hold certifications in Child Abuse and Neglect Mandatory Reporter, Infant, Child, and Adult CPR, Pediatric and Adult First Aid, and Blood-Born Pathogens/ Universal Precautions. My Family Child Care Home is ChildNet Certified, which means I have taken specific classes to enhance the quality of care I provide, and have also met criteria beyond the basic requirements of the Department of Human Services for Family Child Care Homes. I also completed the PITC program, a 40 hour training specific to infant and toddler care. On June 1, 2008, I earned the highest rating awarded by the State of Iowa Quality Rating System.

Thank you for visiting the Kids World Child Care page! On August 1, 2022, I officially retire from providing registered child care. Here are some resources to help you find childcare.
This is the link to the most current State of Iowa system to help families find childcare providers

https://search.iachildcareconnect.org/

There is also a Facebook group called DeWitt Iowa Area Childcare Needs/Openings.

There are both registered and non-registered providers in the group. If you are considering a non-registered provider, most of them are very good, but there are a few who aren't, so make sure you ask lots of questions and check their references.
Finding quality childcare continues to be an issue for parents in Iowa. Please contact your local legislators and encourage them to do more to support quality, affordable childcare for all of our families.

Thanks! Kathy

Choosing quality child care is important. When children are little, their brains grow a lot (90%!) and learn things like sharing, taking turns, playing with other children, talking to friends, and understanding feelings.
