Kids World Child Care offers a child-directed educational program that strives to meet the developmental needs of each individual child. About Me (Kathy Sampson)
I have been a registered child care provider since 1990. IA, with a B.A. in elementary education with endorsements in Pre-School and Kindergarten. I also concentrated my studies in teaching reading, and am one course away from having a re
ading endorsement. Since my graduation, I have continued my education in child care practices, in the following areas: Health and Safety, Nutrition, Child Growth and Development, Child Observation and Assessment, Interactions with Children, Learning Experiences and Environment, Families and Communities, Program Management, and Professional Development. DHS requires that I take a minimum of 12 hours of training in these categories each year. ChildNet requires a minimum of 16 hours of training annually, and The Quality Rating System, at level 5, requires 22 to 32 hours of training annually. Documentation of the training I have received is available on request. In addition, I hold certifications in Child Abuse and Neglect Mandatory Reporter, Infant, Child, and Adult CPR, Pediatric and Adult First Aid, and Blood-Born Pathogens/ Universal Precautions. My Family Child Care Home is ChildNet Certified, which means I have taken specific classes to enhance the quality of care I provide, and have also met criteria beyond the basic requirements of the Department of Human Services for Family Child Care Homes. I also completed the PITC program, a 40 hour training specific to infant and toddler care. On June 1, 2008, I earned the highest rating awarded by the State of Iowa Quality Rating System.
