🧡🍂 A Huge Thank You to Our Community & 100 Acre Woods Families 🍂🧡

Over the last couple of weeks, our community has shown incredible kindness. Thanks to the generous donations from our 100 Acre Woods families and our amazing neighbors, we were able to put together food and hygiene buckets for 6 wonderful families in our area.

To the community member who donated the Casey’s gift cards — thank you SO much! I didn’t catch your name, but your generosity was heartfelt, thoughtful, and such a perfect addition to these boxes. Your idea truly made a difference. ❤️

This weekend, we will be delivering these boxes, and we hope they bring a little joy, comfort, and brightness to each family who receives one.

We are honored — truly honored — to play even a small part in supporting our community.

❤️ Honoring Our Local Veterans – Help Us Say Thank You! ❤️🇺🇸

At One Hundered Acre Woods, we want to teach our little ones the importance of kindness, gratitude, and community. This Veterans Day, our children will be creating thank-you cards and small tokens of appreciation for local veterans to show how much we value their service and sacrifices.

We’re looking for names and addresses of local veterans in our community who would enjoy receiving a special delivery of appreciation from the children. 🎖️

If you know a veteran—whether it’s a neighbor, friend, or family member—please send their name and address in a private message to Amanda Jo Grems by Thursday November 6th so that we can get them mailed or delivered in time for vetrens day!

Our goal is to make sure every veteran in our area feels the love and gratitude they deserve this Veterans Day. ❤️💙

🧡🍂 100 Acre Woods “Thankful Hearts” Community Food Drive & Family Support 🍂🧡

This Thanksgiving season, we want to help spread a little warmth, comfort, and care right here in our community. 🦃✨

100 Acre Wood Child Care, along with Grems "Pit Happens BBQ" , is collecting non-perishable food items to create
Thanksgiving Dinner Boxes for local families and individuals who could use a little extra support this year.

📦 How You Can Help:

Donate non-perishable items like boxed stuffing, instant potatoes, canned veggies, gravy, cranberry sauce, pie mix, or dessert items.

You can drop donations at 100 Acre Woods (805 Guthrie Street) or message us to arrange a pickup.

All collected items will go directly into Thanksgiving Dinner Boxes for local families.

💌 Nominate a Family or Individual in Need:
If you know a family or person who could use a Thanksgiving dinner — whether it’s a single parent, an elderly couple, or someone spending the holiday alone, anyone who could use a little good news — please send a private message to Amanda Grems with:

•Number of people in the household

•Approximate ages

•Any helpful details (dietary needs, delivery info, etc.)

•How I may contact the nominated individuals

All nominations will be kept completely confidential. ❤️

🎃👻 Community Trunk or Treat! 👻🎃

You’re invited to join us at 100 Acre Woods Childcare Center for a night of safe, family-friendly Halloween fun!

📅 Friday, October 31st
⏰ 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

✨ What’s Happening:

🍴 Dinner by Grems Pit Happens BBQ – Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Hot Dogs, Chips & Apple Nachos
🍬 Trunk or Treat – Staff and friends will be set up in the parking lot, handing out candy to all the little ghouls & goblins
🏠 Warm-Up Spot – A classroom will be open for families to sit, eat, and take a break

👻 Dress up, bring your trick-or-treat bags, and join us for a spooktacular evening! All kids in the community are welcome. 🎃✨

🌍🥫 World Food Day Food Drive! 🥫🌍

100 Acre Woods Childcare Center is proud to host a community food drive in honor of World Food Day on Friday, October 16th!

📅 When: Donations accepted Monday, October 6th – Friday, October 16th
📍 Where: 100 Acre Woods Childcare Center — 805 Guthrie Street, De Soto

✅ A collection box will be in our foyer during open hours.
✅ A bin with a lid will be placed on our front porch for after-hours donations.

We are collecting non-perishable food items to help our neighbors in need. All donations will be shared with Dallas County food pantries as well as the many Blessing Boxes located throughout the county.

Let’s work together to fight hunger right here at home! Every can, box, or bag of food makes a difference. 💙

Help Wanted at 100 Acre Woods Childcare Center!

Are you a responsible adult who loves interacting with children? Do you enjoy watching them grow and learn every day? If so, we want you to join our team!

We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic and a genuine love for children. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, along with options for an as-needed call-in basis. This would be great for a retired individual looking to pick up a few hours a week or even someone who works at another PT job.

Candidates must be able to pass a background check and complete mandated trainings, including First Aid, CPR, and mandatory reporting for child abuse.

15% of all sales during this time will help raise funds to replace their old 1995 fire engine and keep our community safe.
