Jr. Beta Club new member applications are now open for the 2026–2027 school year. Stop by Mrs. Harper’s room to grab an application! Only 6th through 8th grade students are eligible for Jr. Beta Club membership.

💛🖤 Beta Volunteers Needed! 🖤💛

We have an opportunity to support one of our recently graduated 8th graders and fellow Beta, Elaina! Elaina is raising money to travel to California to represent Illinois at the USATF National Junior Olympic Championship! 🎉

She will be hosting a Car Wash & Lemonade Stand this Saturday, July 25th, from 9:30 AM–12:30 PM at The Auto Shop in Carbondale.

We would love to have some of our Beta students come out and volunteer to help her! Students who participate can count their time toward their volunteer/service hours for the upcoming Beta year. 💛

If your student would like to help, please comment below or message me! Let’s show Elaina some Beta support as she heads to Nationals! 🏅👏

🎉💛🖤 NATIONAL CONVENTION… THAT’S A WRAP 💛🖤🎉

And just like that… the lights come down, the last session ends, and we’re all left standing there like, “wait… did that really just happen?” 🥲✨

National Convention is officially over—and wow. Just wow.

From the loud cheers to the quiet “did you see that?!” moments, from early mornings to late-night memories, and from competition nerves to celebration hugs… you showed up in every way possible. 💥

To every student, sponsor, parent, volunteer, and attendee —thank you for making this week feel bigger than an event and more like a whole experience we all got to share together 💛🖤

We laughed. We competed. We cheered way too loud. We probably lost track of time at least once (or five times). And we wouldn’t change a second of it. 😄

Last Day of National Convention!

We had such a great time competing in Nashville, TN. Our kids put forth such amazing effort in each competition & represented DGS well, but my favorite part was the bonding that happened between waiting on hotel hallway floors, bus rides, girl talks on balconies, meeting new people from all over the nation in the hot tub… We truly have an amazing group of kids.
