All good things begin with prayer, as the middle school students traveled to Camp Tekakwitha.

The Middle School retreat day at Camp Tekawitha theme was to Listen. The verse of the day was from 1 Sam 3:10 "Speak for your servant is listening".

They rotated through a variety of activities to help them focus more on listening. Spending time in silence allows them to hear and see different things. Students guided each other through a web while blindfolded. Time was spent closing their eyes and focusing on what they are hearing around them.

They spent time in the chapel praying during adoration.

A message that they experienced is that sometimes we have to ask for help, we can't always do it on our own. They had a chance to be creative and create a skit. The group had to listen to each other's ideas to come up with an idea to perform.

They ended the day in prayer in the chapel. πŸ™

We have completed SEVEN days of the 2026-2027 school year!

The Leader In Me curriculum started on the first day with lessons for one of each of the 7 Habits taught each day. The students are strengthening their leadership potential by getting to know their classmates, writing a classroom mission statement, and establishing classroom routines.

These students will continue LeaderInMe activities throughout the school year as we settle into our academic schedules.

Great job students and teachers! We love the leaders we see in you!

The first mass of the school year is always special as we come together for the 'Mass of the Holy Spirit' with great excitement as we worship together.

As the students and faculty are getting settled into their school day routine, this mass is led by the Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church staff, led by Fr. James Baraniak, O. Praem. and Deacon Bob.

We are grateful for the many that joined us for mass to kickoff the school year! Many of these individuals will be here every week to join us at the school mass.

On this fifth day of school, September 1st, it 'felt like' a hot and humid July summer day! β˜€πŸ•ΆπŸ”₯

We are so appreciative of the air conditioning in our school! πŸ†’
Thank you to everyone who made it possible!

These middle school students were enjoying their time outside, at least for a little while.

"They shall not hunger or thirst, neither scorching wind nor sun shall strike them down, for he who has pity on them will lead them, and by springs of water will guide them". ~Isaiah 49:10

"I Pledge to ... "
This is a common theme in the classrooms as student devices are distributed for the school year.

As the students establish a new STRONG password for the school year and review the technology user agreement, they acknowledge the various guidelines and pledge to be a good Digital Citizen in a variety of topic areas as it relates to the use of technology at school.

While the students navigate their school day, the devices are available for assessments, enrichment and learning which prepares them for the digital future which is constantly changing.

Thank you to the Green Bay Area Catholic Education (GRACE) Tech Services team who prepare these devices during the summer and assist with deployment and support throughout the school year.

A reminder for all ... before you post or share.
T - is it true?
H - is it helpful?
I - is it inspiring?
N - is it necessary?
K - is it kind?

Mrs. Schmidt's class is practicing belly breathing. They have their hands on their bellies so they can feel them rise as they take deep breaths in through their nose, all the way down to their bellies, and then out through their mouths.

As leaders, we practice Habit 3: Put First Things First. Breathing is a strategy to help themselves feel calm which in turn helps the classroom be a safe and supportive environment.

We think they look happy and calm here!

On the second day of school, let the learning begin!

This year, our school is implementing a program, Leader in Me, which is based on the framework of "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People".

To begin this journey, we are dedicating the first eight days of school to building our school culture and developing the habits and routines that will help our students thrive all year long.
Together we are teaching students how we learn, how we treat one another, how we solve problems, how we take responsibility, and how we become leaders.

Keep up the good work students and teachers! We like the Jesus we see in you! βšœπŸ™

On this first day of school, we begin with establishing routines, which includes determining if the child will have hot or cold lunch.

We look forward to sharing more photos as we kickoff a great school year!

Dear God,

Thank You for a new school year and a fresh start. Please watch over all students, teachers, and staff as they begin this journey.

⚜ Give students eager minds, clear focus, and the courage to ask questions.

⚜ Give teachers deep patience, wisdom, and joy on every hard and good day.

⚜Give families peace to calm any worries and comfort in times of transition.

On the First Day of School, a the high light of the morning is a blessing of the backpacks and those that use them.

After a blessing, the holy water is shared 'generously' by Fr. Jim on all those in attendance. πŸ’¦

The families say their good-byes for the start of the school day. The parents were invited for some beverages in the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church social hall, while the students find their teachers to begin their day in the classroom.

"Holy and loving God, we ask for your blessing upon this backpack and the one who carries it. Protect this student as they go forth today. Open their minds to learning, their hearts to kindness, and their steps to safety. Remind them in times of stress that you are always by their side."
