This fall, the Bush Art Center Galleries explore art, democracy, human rights, justice, and civic participation through four exciting exhibitions.

Art Against the Odds: Art by currently and formerly incarcerated Wisconsin artists, highlighting creativity, resilience, and human dignity. (Baer Gallery)

Handwriting the Constitution: Morgan O’Hara’s participatory project inviting visitors to handwrite the U.S. Constitution and reflect on the rights and responsibilities of democratic society. (Godschalx Gallery)

Just: Joon Soo Ha transforms the iconic American flag into a site of shifting meaning and interpretation. (Media Space Gallery)

Voices of Freedom: printmaking and graphic art addressing human rights, incarceration, immigration, and community defense. (Permanent Collection Gallery)

Professor Bauer will be included in the upcoming exhibition, The American Landscape: Beyond the Horizon, at the Museum of Wisconsin Art!

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, this exhibition offers a timely reconsideration of the landscapes we inhabit and the meanings we attach to them. Drawing from MOWA’s collection alongside significant loans, the exhibition also highlights contemporary voices engaging Wisconsin’s artistic legacy.

Join us tonight, 6:00–7:30 PM at the Bush Art Center for an evening celebrating 70 years of art at St. Norbert College through four exhibitions celebrating the past, present, and future of art at SNC!

The evening also includes a special screening of Bill Bohne’s The Last Lecture in the BAC Lecture Hall. This is an early conceptual video work that uses repetition, duration, and humor to question presence, authorship, and the structure of an academic lecture as a performance.

Congratulations to SNC Art students Kyler Lasee and Tyli Scheetz!

They will be presenting their exhibition, It All Matters Now, as part of the SUNY New Paltz Undergraduate Art History Symposium. The exhibition, originally curated last fall, explores themes of freedom of expression through works from St. Norbert College’s permanent collection.

This is an exciting opportunity to share their undergraduate research on a national stage in New York. We’re proud to see their work gaining this level of recognition!
