The Killeen Chair of Theology & Philosophy Lecture Series

The Killeen Chair of Theology & Philosophy Lecture Series A Theology and Philosophy lecture series at St Norbert College. Free and open to the public. 2017-18 Series: Transformative Experience
Becoming a parent.

Undergoing a religious conversion. Reconciling after great wrongdoing. Falling in love. Suffering profound loss. What does it mean when we have experiences so powerful that our ways of thinking, knowing, or valuing are fundamentally transformed? How is our understanding of the world and our sense of self remade by such experiences? The Killeen Chair invites you to join leading thinkers as they explore the theological and philosophical implications of "Transformative Experience", our theme for 2017-2018.

This semester we had the pleasure of hearing from two riveting speakers addressing this year's theme of "Visions of Apocalypse": Candida Moss on "Eugenics and Torture at the End of Days: Resurrection, Restoration and Revenge," and J. Dmitri Gallow on "Existential Risk and the Artificial Will."

It was so great to have both of them visit our campus, share meals and conversation with students and faculty, and offer our community much food for thought.

Our next lecture will be April 4, 2024, featuring Natasha O'Hear on "The Ultimate Vision: A Visual History of the Book of Revelation and Its Seer, John of Patmos." Mark your calendars!
