4K students took to the pavement to show off their skills on their bikes and scooters. 🚲🛴

It was awesome to see the way they cheered on one another and their excitement to show off their wheels. Before getting on their bikes, each student's helmet was inspected to ensure it was safe to ride.

Thank you to our wonderful teachers and families for making this day a reality. The students had a memorable time. 💛

Aspen class is thinking outside the box. 📦 Today, they turned a simple cardboard box into a world of fun play. The box was used to sit in, peeking over, as a ramp for trucks, and so much more.

Through the repurposing of a cardboard box, children are given a blank canvas that helps them to build creativity, problem-solving skills, and gross-motor skills through their open-ended play.

They reinforce their creativity by pretending the box is a rocket ship, a car, a house, and more! 🚀✈️🚗🏠

They enhance their problem-solving skills by determining how to each have a turn exploring the box and figuring out different uses for the box. 💭

Their motor skills get a workout by lifting, pushing, pulling, and overall manipulating the box. 💪🏼

Students also get the opportunity to improve their vocabulary and learn new words through conversations with peers and teachers. 🗣️

This sensory project helps build fine motor skills and sparks creativity. We love finding ways to reuse everyday items for play and creativity.

⚽ GOAL!

Watching early learners play soccer is less about the scoreboard and all about the pure joy of movement. From chasing after the ball in one big, happy pack to celebrating every single kick, our playground was filled with massive smiles and nonstop energy today.

While it looks like pure fun on the outside, these mini matches are actually helping our kids build some incredible skills:
Gross motor development, balance, and coordination
Teamwork, sharing, and learning to pass to a friend
Listening skills and following simple game directions
Burning off lots of healthy, active energy

Whether they were scoring a goal or running in the completely wrong direction with a huge smile, everyone walked off the field a champion today.🏆

Puddles mean play time - our learners enjoyed outside time today, splashing, digging, and learning in the rain. ☔️
Our waterproof gear keeps us cozy while nature teaches us new lessons. A little wet weather won't stop our fun! 🍃

Today, our Dogwood earners traded their walking shoes for wheels! 🚲🛴

While it looks like pure fun (and it definitely is!), riding bikes and scooters is a powerhouse activity for gross motor development in early childhood. Here is why we love putting the pedal to the metal:

🚲Balance and Coordination: Balancing on a scooter or steering a bike requires children to use both sides of their body together, building core stability and spatial awareness.

🛴Leg Strength and Stamina: Pushing off the ground or pedaling builds large muscle groups in the legs and core.

💛Confidence and Risk-Taking: Mastering a new physical skill or learning how to safely navigate around friends gives children a wonderful boost in self-esteem.

Bringing the 90s back! ☀️

Our Dogwood & Ginkgo classrooms traveled back in time before tablets and streaming. They transformed their outdoor learning time into the ultimate 1990s backyard summer!

💦The little learners connected with nature and experienced the simple screen-free magic of a classic 90s childhood.
They skipped the splash pad and opted for an old-school, classic sprinkler and empty containers.

🎨 Students were armed with a jumbo bucket of chalk; the sidewalk quickly became their canvas. Students covered the sidewalk in bright 90s colors until their hands were happily dusty.

🐛We integrated a little science and sensory play by caring for the center's garden beds. After helping water the plants and harvesting tomatoes, chives, and mint, the children became pint-sized biologists and entomologists. They inspected the undersides of leaves and successfully spotted some caterpillars.

🍦 And no 90s summer was complete without a sticky, icy treat. The two classrooms gathered everyone in the grass for a well-deserved popsicle break.

📻The whole experience was wrapped in family-friendly tunes from the 90s that had our teachers flashing back to a much simpler time.
