What can you learn when you come to Fall Fest at Smedley Park on Saturday 9/26? Sign up for a workshop or two, like the Introduction to the Wonderful World of Seed Collecting at 10:00 – 11:30 in the Hoop House with Master Gardener, Mary Huis. You will learn best practice techniques for seed collecting and use these techniques hands-on with plant stems provided at the workshop.

Stephen Hinds, Master Gardener and Master Watershed Steward, and Anita Ann Murphy, Master Gardener, will lead you on a guided walk on some of the Smedley Park trails from 10:30-noon. Join the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners of Delaware County for the 23rd Annual Fall Fest on Saturday, September 26, from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM at Smedley Park in Springfield.

Spend the day learning, exploring, and shopping for the garden! Fall Fest will feature hands-on workshops, plant sales with new natives and perennials plus Master Gardener-grown plants, a guided fall walk through Smedley Park, children’s activities, and the always-popular Frugal Gardener marketplace.

This year’s workshop lineup includes succulent and decoupage pumpkins, seed collecting, mason bee houses, mushrooms, tool sharpening and care, fall-to-spring patio pots, tomato preservation, and more.
