Sigma Sigma Sigma Eta Tau Chapter at ERAU.
2023 and 2024 Distinguished Chapter of the Year
Founded at Longwood University on April 20, 1898.
In 1898, stepping out on a path from Farmville, Virginia, eight young women away from home and family, found each other and began their journey in friendship. These women shared a special bond as friends who regarded each other as sisters. Reaching out to others who joined them on the journey, together, they established a sisterhood called Sigma Sigma Sigma. We find friends within the bonds of Tri

In honor of we want to spotlight one of our new members Alexis and have her tell us about what here heritage means to her!!
“My name is Alexis Collazo, I am a first generation Latina U.S. citizen and college student in my family to be graduating in spring with a Bachelors in Civil Engineering. My parents migrated from Cuba over 35 years ago to have a better life for their families- though knowing nothing about US customs or even the language- to ensure that we receive the best education and opportunities out there. My brother and I grew up with parents who pushed us to embrace our heritage, be persistent/motivated towards our biggest aspirations, and to lead with compassion.
I’ve realized over the years that my parent’s strictness and what seemed like to me was nagging, was to mold me into a successful woman. Recently, I’ve become the president for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (a.k.a mi familia) and now a new sister in Tri Sigma. I can’t wait for the new memories to create with my sisters and to be as much of a support system as they have been for me.”
