KidsAmaze is a source of information for parents and teachers of young children and is a place to celebrate all t hings amazing about children. Since becoming a parent I've learned how truly amazing kids are. My kid amazes me every day. I never realized how much I would learn from my daughter. I am amazed by her compassion, insight and questions. I hope to provide an avenue for appreciating and celebrating all things amazing about children. I also hope to share ideas, resources and stories about teaching, educating and loving young children. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. From the time I was a young child, I would line up my stuffed animals and dolls and teach them everything from reading and writing to math problems. While I began working in child care in high school, my career of working with children continue to grow through college. In 2004, I received my Master of Arts in Education from Johnson State College. During my early years I worked primarily in child care and private early education settings. After receiving my MA I directed a child care center in Vermont, worked as an early education consultant in New York, and as a literacy coach in Atlanta. While all of these opportunities were amazing and opportunities for growth, I finally obtain my teaching license in early childhood education and eventually in elementary education and pursued teaching in public education. I had the amazing opportunity to teach many pre-k and kindergarten students while in North Carolina. There is nothing more rewarding than watching the growth of students over the course of the school year and knowing that you've had an impact on their lives. I always had a the dream of teaching kindergarten and it finally came true. So, why am I no longer teaching? There came a moment in my life when I needed to make some big decisions for my family. We moved to Florida and began new career in real estate, another passion. While I love the flexibility and the ability to be available to my daughter with my new career, there is still the teacher in me that wants to share ideas with others and so I created KidsAmaze.
