RJ Longstreet Elementary School

RJ Longstreet Elementary School RJ Longstreet Elementary School is a public K-5 school located in Daytona Beach, Florida. to Ponce Inlet. We are Caring Cardinals who THRIVE by the Sea!

Longstreet Elementary is a small school located on the beachside in
Daytona Beach. It is nestled in a beautiful suburban setting between the Halifax River and the Atlantic Ocean. The school encompasses a large geographic area serving students from Seabreeze Blvd. Longstreet opened in 1954 and serves approximately 400 students. Longstreet is a Title I School with 74% of the students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. It has a minority population of 21%, English Speakers of Other languages (ESOL) population of 5%, and a mobility rate of 54% with a large homeless population. A major renovation was completed in the fall of 2008 which included a new art/music wing, consistent outer facings on all wings, new windows, doors, cabinetry, and flooring. Each classroom has modern technology in the form of data projectors and audio enhancement. Our students also have 1:1 technology access at Longstreet. This small school prides itself on being a community school. Part of the secret to the success of this wonderful school is the active parent and community involvement. This involvement includes a very active PTA which sponsors many events throughout the school year. If you are interesting in joining our School Advisory Council please reach out- we welcome business and community partners. Hours: Monday- Friday 7:30am - 3:30 pm

Hi Cardinals!

Tomorrow, our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will begin taking their Volusia Benchmark Assessment (VBA). This is the time to show what they have learned this past quarter. Please encourage your child to get a good nights rest, eat a good breakfast (free for all students in our cafeteria) and come prepared on testing day.
Thank you so much for the support!

Y’all Ready for Dolly Day? Join the Fun on September 25th!

Howdy, Cardinal Families!

On Friday, September 25th, we're working 9 to 5, Dolly style! In honor of the one and only Dolly Parton, students are invited to show their Dolly spirit by dressing country-style, wearing pink, adding a little sparkle and rhinestone shine, or coming in their favorite Western wear.

However your child chooses to join the fun, we can't wait to celebrate a day filled with big dreams, bright smiles, and a whole lot of Cardinal spirit! We look forward to seeing our Caring Cardinals shine as we celebrate the joy of reading, learning, and believing that anything is possible.

Y'all come ready for a fun-filled Friday!
