Many students struggle with run-on sentences or sentence fragments. One trick is: if you naturally pause in your speech, there’s probably some punctuation in there. Try saying these sentences I’ve written down out loud. You will pause whenever you hit a period, a comma, or something else. Then you just have to decide what punctuation you need to use. Come to the DSC Writing Center if you want to practice with us!
