It's that time of year! If you are a current member of PTA and are interested in sitting on the board or would like to nominate someone, please let us know.
Currently, through April, we are accepting nominations for the following positions: President, Vice President of Fundraising, VP of Events, Recording and Corresponding Secretaries and Treasurer. We will vote on nominations in May. Please consider taking an active part in Westside's PTA!

Westside Families, please come out for our first 'Movie Night'! We are looking forward to an evening of fun and fellowship! Hope to see you all there!

Our annual Black History Program will be held tonight at Mainland High School in the auditorium at 6:30 PM. There will be performances by our band, dancers, and cheerleaders. We hope to see you there!

Our second Let's Go 5-2-1-0 Health and Literacy Night will be held this Thursday, January 14, at 6:00 pm. Come celebrate the start of 2016 with us! 🏃💃📚🍎🍍
Also this week, we will be celebrating Mrs. Janice Desmore-Mallory. After over two decades at WES, she will be retiring. It is time for us to celebrate her as we send her into the next chapter of her life. All students and staff will be making this week extra special as we honor her! We will miss you Mrs. Mallory. 💖

Much appreciation to our volunteers, Coach Maltoni and all of you for helping to make our 2015 Santa's Shop the best yet. All of the profits will go towards our students' field trips!

Santa's Shop will open next week, December 7-11. Students will be able to walk through the store on Monday and browse. Beginning Tuesday, they will have the opportunity to purchase items for their families, teachers and friends. Items are priced from
$ 1.00 - $ 7.00. We are still in need of volunteers to help work in the shop. Please contact the school if you are able to assist! Wishing you all a wonderful and blessed Christmas. Please contact Aimee Shank, Kym Dhawan or Dianna Hogan with any questions.

Our annual block party, Neighborhood Watch for Education is this Thursday evening from 6-730 pm. Come out and support education with the community! Dinner, activities and entertainment will be provided! There will be a dj and special dignitaries. The Kona Ice truck will be on sight; prices ranging from $3-5.
We are still in need of donations of individually bagged chips and candy. Please drop off all donations to the front office! Look forward to seeing you there!

Please join us for our PTA board meeting, Tuesday, October 13, at 4:45 pm in the media center. If you're not a member of PTA yet, it's time to join. Membership is only $5 for the year. We look forward to seeing you!

Westside families, our 2015-2016 Open House will be held this Thursday night, beginning with a PTA meeting in the media center at 6:00 pm. At 6:30, you may begin to visit classrooms. We will have three rotations. Please be sure to go by the café to get information from the Title 1 presentation as well. PTA will be selling memberships for $5 and t-shirts for $8. We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday night!

School planners have arrived! Beginning tomorrow morning, we will be selling them in the café, office and parent pickup line. They are $2.00 each. We will also have our Team Westside shirts for $8.00. Thank you for making our first two days back to school such a success!
