Educators Thriving

What if you prioritized your well-being? Join us for a researched-based series of professional learning topics designed to help educators sustain their well-being.

These sessions are led by Volusia LEADS! team members who have been trained by the Educators Thriving team. Our Educators Thriving sessions will engage in 6 sessions offered in a hybrid format.

Session 1 will be launched this week, October 1st.

FUTURES Foundation just landed a 2026-27 Futures in Focus grant from The Able Trust. The Able Trust has been a trusted partner of the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations since 2023, supporting local education foundations across Florida as they create innovative career and post-secondary opportunities for students with disabilities. With this funding, our Volusia County Schools students will have new opportunities to explore what comes next. We are grateful for The Able Trust’s continued statewide support!

We had a very exciting (and very wet) day at Spruce Creek Park, exploring Rose Bay with Spruce Creek High School Volusia County students, teachers, and chaperones.

Field STEM gives secondary students the opportunity to learn real world applications of the standards they are learning in the classroom. During their trips, they may collect water or soil samples, look at slides under microscopes or explore nature & wildlife. We know that hands-on experiential learning helps this information stick and this is a great example for this.

Special thank you to Duke Energy for supporting this program with a $20,000 grant - providing transportation & supplies for the students to experience this year after year. Thank you to EnviroSTEM teacher Jennifer Hanke and STEM Specialist Amy Monahan for letting us tag along!

Special thank you to some of our grads for helping us package supplies in our Teacher Resource Store to prep for the next in-person shop. We work every week to fulfill a limited number of online orders! And this week's orders are headed to teachers across Volusia!
