Today, faculty and staff gathered for our annual College-wide Retreat to reconnect, collaborate and prepare for the semester ahead. It was a great day focused on supporting student success and strengthening our Daytona Beach College of Aviation community.

Embry-Riddle Assistant Professor Gregory Zahornacky has received the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, recognizing a lifetime of safe flying, professionalism and commitment to aviation excellence. Congratulations on this well-deserved achievement!

The Embry-Riddle Aviation Maintenance SkillBridge Program reached a milestone: 1,000 military graduates.

Brandon Arthur, a former Army Apache helicopter mechanic, is one of more than 1,000 graduates of Embry-Riddle’s AMT SkillBridge Program. The program helped him transition his military experience into civilian aviation maintenance at AAR.

Since 2019, 90%+ of graduates have received job offers, helping service members take their skills to new heights.

How safe is commercial air travel compared to everyday activities?

A new study from the Boeing Center for Aviation & Aerospace Safety at Embry-Riddle examined the risks of flying in the U.S. and compared them with common everyday risks. Led by Dr. Mihhail Berezovski, the research team analyzed available safety data to better understand how safe air travel really is.

Their conclusion: fatal accidents in commercial aviation are extremely rare, reinforcing air travel’s reputation as one of the safest ways to get around.
