How safe is commercial air travel compared to everyday activities?
A new study from the Boeing Center for Aviation & Aerospace Safety at Embry-Riddle examined the risks of flying in the U.S. and compared them with common everyday risks. Led by Dr. Mihhail Berezovski, the research team analyzed available safety data to better understand how safe air travel really is.
Their conclusion: fatal accidents in commercial aviation are extremely rare, reinforcing air travel’s reputation as one of the safest ways to get around.
