The relationship between dew point and temperature defines
the concept of relative humidity. The dew point, given in
degrees, is the temperature at which the air can hold no
more moisture. When the temperature of the air is reduced
to the dew point, the air is completely saturated and moisture
begins to condense out of the air in the form of clouds, rain,fog, dew, or snow.
As moist, unstable air rises, clouds often form at the altitude
where temperature and dew point are the same. When
lifted, unsaturated air rises it cools at about a rate of 2° C every 1,000 feet. As a rule of thumb we can use a simple formula to determine the height the clouds will be on a certain day given these two values. The simple formula is as follows:
Taking the Temperature subtracted from the Dew Point will give us the Dew Point Spread. Take the Dew Point Spread and multiply it by 1,000. This will give you a pretty good approximation of where the cloud bases will be.
Example in 2nd Picture: Temp 26, Dew point 21:
26°- 21°= 5, 5x 1,000= 5,000ft
Looking at the 2nd photo we can see from the METAR that the clouds were reported at 5,000ft.
A stabilized approach is one in which the pilot establishes and maintains a constant-angle glide path towards a predetermined point on the landing runway.
An airplane descending on final approach at a constant rate and airspeed travels in a straight line towards a spot on the ground ahead, called the aiming point, in this video the numbers on the runway (25). If the airplane maintains a constant glide path without a round out for landing, it will strike the ground at the aiming point.
The round out is a slow, smooth transition from a normal approach attitude to a landing attitude, gradually rounding out the flightpath to one that is parallel to and a few inches above the runway. When the airplane approaches 10 to 20 feet above the ground in a normal descent, the round out or flare is started. Back-elevator pressure is gradually applied to slowly increase the pitch attitude keeping the airplane off the ground while disbursing its energy. The pitch is increased at a rate that allows the airplane to continue settling slowly as forward speed decreases. This is a continuous process until the airplane touches down on the ground.
Common errors and Tips:
1. Avoid major power changes on final.
-Avoiding large adjustments of power will help from deviations of approach speed and proper glide path.
2. Apply smooth back pressure in round out (flare): Don’t tense your muscles in the flare- keeping calm and relaxed will allow more precise and smoother control inputs.
3. Transition your eyes to the end of the runway during the round out (flare): By looking down the runway instead of off the nose of the plane this will allow you to gain a sense/judge your height above the runway by using your peripheral vision to focus on the edges of the runway and your foveal vision to focus down the runway, allowing you to effectively judge your height above the ground and simeltaneously keeping the longitudinal axis of the plane in-line with the centerline of the runway.
4. Proper control inputs for crosswinds: Rarely are the winds blowing perfectly down the center of the runway but normally from an angle to the right or left of the runway. Having the proper aileron and rudder inputs all the way through the landing and touchdown phase is crucial to a smooth and safe landing. (As seen in the end of the video where the yoke is fully turned to the right allowing for the proper crosswind correction).

Some low level ground fog ☁️
Fog is a cloud that is on the surface. It typically occurs when the temperature of air near the ground is cooled to the air’s dew point. At this point, water v***r in the air condenses and becomes visible in the form of fog. Fog is classified according to the manner in which it forms and is dependent upon the current temperature and the amount of water v***r in the air.
