Sawubona Stained Glass and Art Works

Sawubona Stained Glass and Art Works Stained Glass commission. Repairs. Classes for Beginners and Intermediate. 3 x 3 hour classes each. Welcome to Sawubona Stained Glass.

I offer personal, hands-on stained glass classes for beginner and intermediate students in a relaxed studio setting. You’ll learn the real techniques of stained glass—cutting, grinding, foiling or leading, soldering, and finishing—with friendly, patient, and helpful guidance every step of the way. My goal is to help you gain confidence and create a piece you’ll be proud of. In addition to teaching, I provide quality repairs and restoration of stained glass panels, lampshades, and doors, helping preserve and bring new life to treasured pieces. I also create custom stained glass commissions, designing original, one-of-a-kind artwork. Clients are welcome to be part of the creative process, with personal input in the design and glass selection to ensure the finished piece reflects their vision. My love for art was inspired by my mother, Audrey Berman, an artist in South Africa. I was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and lived in Durban and Cape Town, South Africa before retiring to Daytona Beach, Florida 11 years ago. After many years as a hotel General Manager, my wife Rebekah and I now spend our time doing what we truly love—creating and sharing the art of stained glass.
