For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink..... Jesus

There are about ten warming centers in the Dayton Area.
There are over 2000 warm Church buildings in the Dayton area. The heat is on, even when the doors are closed.

Some of them closed today. Too too cold to even to drive to in our warm cars. Some are in the places where homeless live.

One day a week for one hour a week those churches have a clean warm place to sit sometimes a hot coffee and some even a smile for those who do not have apace to lay their heads. .

When we close the doors we have joined a club. A bad, bad club.

We can never again say we have outreach because when people were freezing today we not only did not open for an 'extra' time for them, we closed on the one day they thought they could depend on us. The one day that we gave up the chance to SHOW Jesus to them in Word and ACTION.

What about all the resources God has provided to us. Do we think that is only for the once a week show for those who can drop something in the golden plate??
How soon we forget WWHY God has given us those beautiful buildings.

Got busses?
Drive them to the parks and bridges let people sit in them and give them coffee.

Got warm buildings?
OPEN the doors let people sit.

Got coffee pots?
Take hot coffee to the paces people are living in tents in doorways .

"Unclean" they yelled to keep the sick and poor out of their church buildings.... We just closed the doors and turned out the lights..

But what did Jesus say?
“Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons.[d] 42 For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. 43 I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

44 “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’

45 “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’

46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”
