Wright State's Boonshoft School of Medicine and Premier Health have received a $2.5 million federal grant to expand Dayton Street Medicine, a program that delivers trauma-informed primary care to people experiencing homelessness while training the next generation of physicians.

Wright State and its Master of Science in Cyber Security program have been redesignated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, reaffirming the university’s leadership in cybersecurity education, research and workforce development.
“This recognition reflects Wright State’s long-term commitment to building a strong, comprehensive cybersecurity program,” said Junjie Zhang, director of Wright State's cybersecurity program. “It highlights not just what we teach in the classroom, but the full environment we’ve created to prepare students to meet evolving cyber threats.”

Timothy J. Bunning, a retired Air Force Research Laboratory leader, has been named interim dean of the Wright State University College of Engineering and Computer Science. “Dr. Bunning brings truly exceptional credentials to this role,” said Provost Jim Denniston, Ph.D. “Equally important, he is a people-centric leader with a deep commitment to developing the next generation of scientists and engineers.”

Jubilant cheers echoed through the Nutter Center on May 1 and 2 as more than 1,650 Wright State University students celebrated the culmination of their academic journeys during the university’s spring commencement ceremonies.
Graduates pumped their fists in triumph, waved excitedly to family members in the stands and proudly held their diplomas above their heads.

Wright State University will award an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters to Kirk Davis during this Saturday's commencement ceremony. After an unplanned departure from the university, Davis set out to learn everything he could about the publishing industry and eventually rose to lead the nation's largest newspaper company.
