Wright State University Academic Engagement

💚💛 Today, we celebrated an amazing group of local high schoolers as they completed our Raiders First Summer Program. Throughout the program, these students explored academic and career pathways, built new skills, and discovered more about their own potential.
They also had the opportunity to hear firsthand from current medical students at the Boonshoft School Of Medicine and put their skills to the test during a fun CPR Challenge hosted by Wright State University College of Health, Edu, & Human Services, as well as a personal finance and budgeting class with Wright State College of Science + Mathematics and Wright State Student Success 💚💛
Watching these students grow, gain confidence, and thrive on our campus was so fun to watch.
This transformational program was offered at no cost to students thanks to the generous support of our sponsors. Special thanks to Synchrony Financial, The Dayton Foundation, PACO Dayton, Bob Appenzeller, the Division of Undergraduate Education, Retention and Student Services, and all six undergraduate-serving colleges at Wright State University.

Day 4 of our Raiders First High School Summer Program, students learned time management skills. They also explored professional branding and networking with Wright State University Career Hub, dove into leadership and character skills alongside Raj Soin College of Business, and brought their competitive spirit to wheelchair basketball and adaptive volleyball with Wright State Campus Recreation. 🏀🏐
We wrapped up the day with a micro writing college prep session led by Wright State Student Success, helping students strengthen skills needed for future academic success.
Above all, this experience helped students see new possibilities for themselves, build more confidence on campus, and take meaningful steps toward their future goals.

🎉 Day 3 of our Raiders First High School Summer Program and students sharpened their professional skills by working on their resumes and interview techniques with , enjoyed a VIP tour of , and conquered the campus rock wall with 🧗‍♂️
They also participated in a Micro Math college-prep session, exploring how math is used every day through data collection, analysis, and statistics with . 📊
Most importantly, students continued exploring their potential, building confidence, and envisioning their future as they experienced college life firsthand.

🎉 Day 2 of our Raiders First High School Summer Program was packed with hands-on learning and college readiness experiences!
Students explored the Human Anatomy and Physiology Interactive Lab with , gained valuable insights during a career exploration session with the and enjoyed some friendly competition in our E-Sports Suite with . 🎮
The day concluded with a Micro Writing college-prep session led by the , helping students strengthen the writing skills needed for future academic success.

🎉 Day 1 of our Raiders First High School Summer Program is in the books! 🎉
Students toured campus with our Admissions team, explored mechanical engineering through SolidWorks with Dr. B, and enjoyed some fun with in the Arcade Room, including ping pong, billiards, and foosball.
The day wrapped up with a Micro Math college-prep session led by and , helping students build their math skills and confidence.
Through experiences like these, students are exploring academic and career pathways, strengthening their college readiness, and discovering their potential. We are proud to be part of their journey and excited to see what the rest of the week brings! 💚💛✨

What an incredible final day of our Raiders First Middle School STEM Camp! 💚💛
Today, we had the privilege of celebrating our students’ hard work, growth, and accomplishments during a special Recognition Ceremony surrounded by their friends and families.
Students also explored how math and physics connect in our Math in the Real World session with and participated in a fascinating STEM experiment with our psychology faculty, giving them another glimpse into the many possibilities within STEM fields.
Most importantly, this week was about more than experiments and activities. It was about helping students envision their future, recognize their potential, and build the confidence and college readiness skills needed to pursue their goals.

Day 4 of our Raiders First Middle School STEM Camp! 🚀🔬
Students strengthened their time management skills, explored the connection between math and engineering with the and special guest speaker Dr. Baudendistel, and put their teamwork and determination to the test through competitive games of wheelchair basketball and adaptive volleyball with .
Students also had the opportunity to dive into Health STEM with the and .prehealth using human simulators and a bone box to explore careers in healthcare.
Every experience this week is designed to expose students to new academic and career pathways, helping them discover their strengths, expand their horizons, and see what is possible for their future.

Day 3 of our Raiders First Middle School STEM Camp, students sharpened their professional communication skills by practicing email etiquette, put their statistical thinking to the test through exciting Minute-to-Win-It challenges with , explored the Arcade Room and Campus Recreation facilities, and dove into the world of robotics and computer science in our Visualization Lab with . 🦾🤖💚💛

🔬🌳🎮 Day 2 of our Raiders First Middle School STEM Camp was filled with exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning!
Students strengthened their understanding of emotional intelligence, put their graphing skills to the test by using coordinates to locate buried treasure in the sand volleyball courts, explored the exciting world of gaming and technology in our e-sports suite with , and discovered the wonders of biology during an interactive walk through the campus woods with .
Every activity helps students build confidence, develop new skills, and see the many ways STEM connects to the world around them. We love watching these future innovators learn, grow, and have fun along the way!
