"Philosophy majors scored higher than all other majors on verbal and logical reasoning, as well as good habits of mind, accounting for freshman-year differences. This suggests their abilities are due, in part, to what they learned in college."

Studying philosophy does make people better thinkers, according to new research on more than 600,000 college grads Philosophers are fond of saying that their field boosts critical thinking. Two of them decided to put that claim to the test.

"Computer science and engineering majors are facing some of the highest unemployment rates, 6.1 percent and 7.5 percent respectively, more than double the unemployment rate among recent biology and art history graduates, which is just 3 percent."

Humanities Graduates Can Find a Great Job. It’s Time to Make This Fact Known: "96.3 percent of humanities bachelor’s degree holders between ages of 23 and 32 were fully employed, on par with degree holders across all fields. Further, their earnings are comparable to counterparts in the behavioral/social sciences and life sciences, while job satisfaction levels are in line with all fields."
