As you might have guessed, Dr Wood has been attending a creation conference out west for the past week. He presented some of his work on hominins and then spent two FULL days touring the Channeled Scablands of Washington. He'll travel back tonight, and we'd appreciate your prayers for safe travel.

Yesterday we hiked to the bottom of Stinging Fork Falls! We had a great group and we talked about geology, native and invasive plant species and we even took a swim. Anna McDonald, our office manager and Certified Tennessee Naturlist had a blast leading this hike, and can’t wait for our next guided hike on August 22nd to Snow Falls with a stop at the Blue Hole after the hike to cool off! Join us for a free guided hike led by TN Naturalist Anna McDonald, to one of Rhea County's hidden gems—Stinging Fork Falls. Nestled just outside Spring City, this spectacular 30-foot fan-shaped waterfall tumbles into a crystal-clear blue-green swimming hole surrounded by towering rock cliffs and lush forest. It's one of the area's most scenic destinations and a favorite for hikers, photographers, and nature lovers alike.

Our guided hike will take you through a beautiful hardwood forest into a secluded gorge featuring rugged rock formations, wooden staircases, and breathtaking views along the way. Once at the falls, you'll have time to relax, explore, take photos, or even cool off with a swim before making the hike back.

🥾 Hike Details
Distance: Approximately 1.5–2.8 miles round trip
Time: Plan for about 1.5–2 hours of hiking and exploring
Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult due to steep descents, rocky terrain, and the climb back out of the gorge
Ages: Recommended for experienced hikers and adventurous families
Pets: Allowed on a leash

Sturdy hiking boots or trail shoes
Water shoes if you plan to swim
Weather-appropriate clothing
Camera for incredible waterfall photos

Creation Discovery Day is underway! This day is an opportunity to spark curiosity and wonder with God’s creation. We are so excited to have Dr. Wood from Core Academy of Science start the day with an explanation of what Creation means to Christian Scientist. Eryn Lynum Author & Speaker is teaching us now about amphibians and God’s intelligent design. This afternoon Dr. Matt McLain with the The Master's University and professor and naturalist friends will be teaching geology, paleontology, and how we research is conducted in the field.

Registration will take place at the Reese Center for Science & Mathematics (RCSM) beginning at 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 12. You may park in the lot next to RCSM. All presentations take place in RCSM room 23 (upstairs). Meals are served in the Mustang Grill.
