Today, we come together to honor Juneteenth (June 19th), the historic day in 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation and ensure freedom for the last enslaved Americans.
For our military-connected community, this day is a powerful reminder of how closely military service is tied to the protection of core constitutional rights and human liberty. It’s a moment to celebrate the triumph of freedom, recognize the profound resilience of Black Americans, and renew our shared commitment to a more just and equitable future.
All Sinclair campuses will be closed on Friday, June 19th. There will be no classes, and offices will be closed.
How is your family celebrating or reflecting on freedom this weekend? We’d love to hear from you in the comments below! 👇

Today, June 14th, we honor "Old Glory," a symbol of hope, unity, and resilience that keeps our nation strong. For Sinclair's military community, the flag has personal meaning, representing the protective communities, missions served, and sacrifices made by families daily. We proudly celebrate over 250 years of the U.S. Army's strength, dedication, and service. To Army veterans, active soldiers, guardsmen, reservists, and families on campus: thank you for answering the call and for your sacrifices.
Let’s celebrate our amazing community today! Feel free to leave a comment to give a shout-out to your branch, share what the flag means to you, or send birthday wishes to the U.S. Army. Your words really brighten our day!
