Life is but a dream, a Dairy Dreem that is! Earlier in May, WCIS student council members celebrated the end of the school year and all the hard work they did by taking a walk to the Dairy Dreem! Students enjoyed the ice cream treat while spending time with friends.

Who wants to play in a pit of foam blocks, swing from a bar, and just bounce? The answer is Mrs. Clements' Intermediate School students! They got to do all of those things when they spent this morning at Twigs.

Every school has a nurse, including the Intermediate School. Laura Garrett joined the school district in January of 2025 and has been a nurse since 1995. Some of her duties include seeing students in the clinic if they’re not feeling well or students who need to take their prescribed medication. She was inspired to become a nurse by her aunt. “I was married and had two babies at home, but she told me I could do it, and I did!” When asked why she wanted to become a nurse, she said, “I want to make a difference.” Her two babies are now grown, and she has five grandchildren ranging in age from 7 to 15. After work, she can be found spending time with them and attending their events.

Becoming a butterfly takes time. Intermediate School teachers, Mrs. Clements and Mr. Ryan, along with the help of Mrs. Stringer, showed students the life cycle of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly. Students were able to release ten butterflies today!

Who are these masked heroes? They are some of the people who drive a school bus every day and make sure our Pirates get to school and back home. We need more heroes! If you are interested in becoming a superhero, we will help you get there! Contact our transportation department at 937-859-5121, ext. 7, for details.
