๐โ๏ธ One day she'll be out there too...
Our Mini Jigs dancers absolutely perform, and many of them have already danced on festival stages, at community events, and alongside their McGovern Irish Dance friends. But this moment caught our hearts for a different reason.
As the older dancers took the stage Celtic Fest Ohio, one of our youngest Mini Jigs stood quietly watching. Not because she wasn't dancing that dayโbut because she was watching what comes next.
She was watching the dancers she looks up to. The dancers who were once Mini Jigs themselves.
At McGovern Irish Dance, every class is connected. Our youngest dancers grow into beginners, our beginners grow into performers, and our performers become the role models inspiring the next generation standing just off stage.
This photo is a reminder that Irish dance is about so much more than steps. It's about belonging to something bigger, having goals to reach for, and knowing there's a place for you every step of the way.
And someday, there may be another little dancer standing in the crowd, watching her. ๐

๐ One of our favorite performances of the summer is almost here!
Join McGovern Irish Dance at Celtic Fest Ohio on Saturday, June 20 at Renaissance Park in Waynesville for a full day of Celtic music, culture, food, shopping, storytelling, and dance.
This one-day celebration brings together some of the biggest names in Celtic music, pipe bands, storytellers, Highland dancers, Irish dancers, cultural demonstrations, and family-friendly activities from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Festival guests can enjoy multiple stages of entertainment, artisan vendors, Celtic-inspired food and drink, and experiences that celebrate the traditions of Ireland, Scotland, and beyond.

What a beautiful summer evening we had sharing Irish dance with the children and families of Vacation Bible School Berne Evangelical Church
This year's VBS theme, Emerald Crossing, was the perfect backdrop for introducing dancers to the music, movement, and traditions of Ireland. We were honored to be invited to teach an Irish dance class and spend the evening with such an enthusiastic group of young dancers.
One of the best parts of the evening was being able to dance outdoors under the summer sky. Surrounded by the beauty of the Midwest countryside, it was easy to see the connection between the rolling green landscapes of Ireland and the rich farmland that makes our heartland so special. There is something magical about dancing outside on a warm summer evening with laughter, music, and smiling faces all around.
The dancers brought incredible energy, enthusiasm, and courage as they learned new steps and embraced the fun of Irish dance. We loved watching them jump right in and give it their all!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Berne Evangelical Church for your hospitality and for inviting McGovern Irish Dance to be part of your Emerald Crossing adventure. We had a wonderful time and are grateful for the opportunity to share our love of Irish dance with your community.
