Belmont's Academy Identity Events were a success!

Students in Belmont's Industry and Design and Health and Human Services Academies participated in days dedicated to learning more about their pathways.

Students heard from speakers in their industry and played games to celebrate their futures. What a fun event!

Dayton Public Schools has made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the 2026 Stivers High School football season due to low participation and injuries.

After careful consideration, District leadership determined that the team cannot safely and responsibly continue the season. The decision also gives remaining opponents as much notice as possible to adjust their schedules.

Ohio’s Student Athlete Mobility Act takes effect October 6, 2026. While the law provides certain opportunities for eligible students to participate in extracurricular activities at qualifying neighboring schools, Stivers football players who have already participated in a football contest this season are not eligible to continue the 2026 season at another school under OHSAA Bylaw 4-1-4.

We understand this decision is disappointing for Stivers student athletes, families, coaches, and supporters. The District will work to support our student athletes and provide families with information about future opportunities.

Yesterday, DPS was excited to host Steve Dackin, Director of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, and Dr. Dianne Allen, Deputy Director, and share all the amazing things happening in our buildings! 🌟

Mr. Dackin and Dr. Allen made stops to meet with the District's Steering Committee and students at Ponitz and Meadowdale to take a look inside the classroom.

Beep beep! Driver's Ed is back at DPS! 🚗

Driver's Education Program is now being offered at Dayton Public Schools! Students currently enrolled in DPS and who have a valid permit at the time of the application will now have the opportunity to enroll in the program for the current school year.
