Mr. Wampler started his martial arts training at a very young age and has grown into our Instructor Manager at MJTA. Mr. Wampler helps teach classes throughout the week, while also going to school to be a Physical Therapist. 💪🏽

Miss Ingrid is one of our newest, Junior Instructors. She is a Blue Belt + Her favorite kick is a shuffle front. When she’s not at Taekwondo, she loves to draw & she wants to be a Nurse or a Dentist in the future.

Miss Valencia has trained since she was 6 years old. Her favorite is a Butterfly Kick 🦋 & she loves doing her Black Belt Forms. When she’s not at Taekwondo, she likes doing her friends’ hair. In the future she wants to be a Criminal Psychologist.

This past month marked Master Johnson’s 25th year as a martial artist! Here is a brief version of how his journey began….. 25 years ago on a Rhea County School Bus, a innocent 7 year old, 1st grade little boy, was physically assaulted and beat up by a 7th grader. That little 7 year old was me. I walked off the bus pretending to be tough, holding back tears and struggling to catch my breath. The minute I walked in the door and seen my grandmother I broke down. She immediately called my mom who left work to come get me and make sure I was not injured to bad. Once she got there I wasn’t able to explain what happened but I was shaken up pretty bad. She called my daddy who immediately went lights and sirens to the school to handle the situation. After a poorly attempted cover up with many excuses by the school administrators, my dad had the sheriffs department pull the footage. Even with it all in black and white the situation was not handled properly. We left Rhea Central Elementary School to head home when my mom drove by Mark Johnson’s TaeKwonDo Plus. She did a U-turn and pulled right in to the parking lot. We met with Mr. Johnson and shared the incident with him and shortly after my feet were on the red and blue mats and I was tying my belt! 25 years later and my feet are still on the mats but now, as the school owner ensuring that I do the best I can to instill confidence and self defense to other young students. I was only 7 years old… a first grader… when bullying changed the course of my life.
