Big things come from small rooms. 👑

About 25 Black men and boys showed up for our August Kingmaker Conversation—and the conversation was BIG.

Brothers talked, challenged each other, laughed, listened, and built community. Black boys were in the room adding their voices right alongside Black men.

This is what Kingmaker is about: creating the room, building the brotherhood, and trusting what can grow from it.

We’re building something special. For us, by us.

We did it—because our community came together. 👑🧡

In just a short Kingmaker Ascend Scholarship campaign, our community showed Black boys that we believe in them through our investment.

The campaign may be finished, but the impact is just beginning.

Shoutout to the Black men who led the campaign, the brilliant Kings who earned scholarships, and the community that affirmed their Black excellence in the making! 👑🧡

Calling all youth! Omega CDC is inviting students in grades K–12 to use their voices to inspire peace and positive change through the Voices for Peace Poetry Contest.

Young people are encouraged to submit an original poem responding to the theme:

“How can young voices create lasting peace?”

Three participants from each age group will be selected to perform their poems during the third annual Youth for Peace March on September 17 at Liberation Park.

Submissions are due by September 4, 2026, at 5:00 PM and may be emailed to [email protected] or dropped off at The Hope Center for Families, 1816 Harvard Blvd., Dayton, OH 45406.

Help us encourage the next generation to speak up, share their perspective, and use their voices for peace.

Join us for the 3rd Annual Youth for Peace March on September 17, 2026 from 3:00 - 6:30 PM at Grace United Methodist Church—a powerful day of unity, resources, and action.

Together, we will take a stand against gun violence, uplift our voices for peace, and strengthen our community. The event will feature violence prevention sessions, a Youth March to Liberation Park, and a Peace Rally filled with inspiration and hope.

Registration is required. T-shirts will be provided to registered participants; however, participants must register by August 31st to guarantee a T-shirt.
