You raised me to be curious, to be kind, and to go try things — and then you literally drove me everywhere so I could do it. Practice to practice, activity to activity — you were always there cheering me on.

You never quite knew all the rules of the sports I played, but you always knew what mattered. You made sure I understood how important it was to be a good teammate and a good sport, and you weren’t shy about reminding me to fix my body language.

I’m really grateful for the example you set. Thoughtful, compassionate, and always seeing the good in people.
