Feeling stuck? Unmotivated? Or exasperated with your unmotivated kid?
You can’t change your child’s heart. But you can still do plenty…
Here are ten things you can do when motivation is flagging and tension is high.
I’m Laura, former teacher, cancer survivor, and homeschool mom of four. I’ve trained over 400 moms to rely on Christ and find a way forward through any homeschool challenge.
Comment UNSTUCK if you refuse to give up on this homeschool thing and are ready for some training to be a strong, godly leader for your kids 💪🏼
Do you feel pulled to a homeschool extreme? Maybe you feel pulled to test your kid at the end of the year because that's what schools do. You're worried about whether you taught enough, covered enough curricula, etc.
Or maybe you're in the opposite camp. Maybe you worry about whether you're doing enough, but you deal with that worry by stuffing it down and putting blind trust in the "process," whatever that means. You are kind of winging it, and don't feel great about it, but don't feel great about the more rigid option above either.
Whether you're putting your trust in a test, or you're putting your trust in a "process," you're going to end up disappointed because these things will not endure or keep you secure.
It's time to put your trust in Christ.
It's good to care about your kids' progress, and it's not wrong to use tests. But if you have strong homeschool skills you will be able to test strategically, with purpose, for specific information...then you'll be able to act on the information you get.
I can teach you how to do this! And we're having a great conversation about it live during my upcoming free workshop, Unstuck. The workshop is May 13 at 2pm eastern, and I'd love to see you there (and I'd love for you to bring your questions!).
Just comment UNSTUCK if you want an invitation :)
