The story behind Tail of the Bell, Inc.
As a survivor of father-daughter in**st spanning more than a decade, Nancy understands first-hand the life-long impacts this trauma can have on an individual’s self-esteem and perspective on life. And, as a battle-scarred warrior of the human experience herself, she firmly believes in giving back to the community and promoting positive change in the lives of others.
Nancy has spent her entire 30+ year corporate career within the insurance industry across a wide breadth of financial, risk assessment, and data disciplines. Along her corporate journey, she discovered that her gift and passion was in helping people help themselves; her greatest satisfaction is watching her team members build self-confidence and grow personally and professionally with her guidance, support and encouragement. She’s had the privilege of helping hundreds of individuals in this manner. Initially one-on-one interaction focused, Nancy has recently extended her reach on a more global scale. She developed and deployed a cross-cultural mentoring program by pairing India-based female colleagues with US and UK leaders. Her success further fueled her passion and she found herself wanting more.
Having long been an advocate for abused children and intellectually challenged adults, Nancy’s involvement with the community first began several decades ago; first as a foster parent, then adopting children herself, and serving on the board of two non-profits. In 2016 she co-founded Koru Kids Connections, Inc, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides therapeutic camp scholarships. In 2017, she combined her personal and business skills, values, and passion in a broader manner hoping to reach and effect change for more of the estimated 40+ million US adult survivors of child sexual abuse hidden among us, often in isolation and residual shame. This led to the formation of her latest organization, Tail of the Bell, where Nancy blends her own life experiences with her skills to support adult survivors who struggle to discover the greatness within themselves and allow survivors to thrive in their workplace and personal lives.
