Born and rasied in Niagara Falls, NY, Kary Dobbs' musical roots begin in singing gospel music at a young age. Though the foundation of her formal music instruction began with playing the flute throughout elementary and high school, her love and skill in singing led her to concentrate as a voice major. Upon receiving classical training in voice, she holds a BA in Music from Buffalo State College, a
nd Master's Degree in Music Education from University at Buffalo. Kary taught general music in the Niagara Falls public school system for 15 years, and is soon to complete her doctoral degree. Through KDMusic, Kary Dobbs offers vocal coaching known as "Vocal Truth." She is able to bridge the gap between the aesthetic soulful sound of singing gospel music, with the fundamental techniques learned in classical training. Aiming to educate, enlighten, and help singers reach their full potential, she offers tips on breathing, phrasing, diction, placement, and more! Kary encourages singers to sing using their whole bodies: with the body as the instrument, and the voice being the audible expressive result of the music created within.
