As a fi****ms focused club, promoting safe and responsible gun use and ownership is a key part of our mission. If you are an out of state student looking to familiarize yourself with CA laws, a prospective owner looking for more information, or just hoping to brush up on your knowledge we'll be covering the basic laws, regulations, and do's and don'ts of gun ownership in California. New members are always welcome and there are no restrictions or requirements to attend. Reminder, attendance will be tracked for participation in future events and attendance to this meeting is a requirement for Sunday’s Range Day Basic

𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟰𝘁𝗵.
Slots are decided and invites will be sent out soon! For those who don't know RDA is an all day event on public land focused on low-round count dynamic drills. The goal is to introduce a small amount of stress in a controlled environment to better prepare participants for practical scenarios. RDA is a highly selective invite only event that requires regular attendance to DMS meetings and events, consistent demonstration of exceptional gun safety, and a willingness to learn.

Whether you’ve never held a gun before or are an experienced shooter, Range Day Basic is one of our most helpful and fun events. We’ll have a wide range of guns and calibers to shoot. This event is designed to both help new or inexperienced shooters gain some experience and provide a space for more experienced members to practice. Everyone is welcome! Requirements are as follows:

Come have fun with us at a private DMS event at CQB City in Stockton. No experience is necessary (and non-members are welcome). Everything you need to play WILL be provided but anyone is welcome to bring their own equipment. Let your inner larp out! We suggest everyone bring the following: a thick sweatshirt jacket, hat/beanie, CLOSED-TOE shoes, and baggy/thick pants. Important info:
> There is no attendance requirement nor dues needed to attend
> There will be an event fee of $5 for members and $10 for non-members.

We will have a mandatory briefing at 10:30AM at the facility and games will start at 11AM. We have a hard stop at 1PM so make sure to arrive on time for maximum play time. If you are carpooling from Davis, you are strongly recommended to leave by 9AM. Expect to be back in Davis by 2PM. If you require a ride we will be arranging them closer to the event, drivers may ask you to split/pay for gas. Drivers we recommend you take I-5, not I-99 (it can be pretty crowded and cramped).

Cleaning and maintenance are critically important when it comes to fi****ms. Remember, a clean gun is an accurate gun. We'll have a short presentation covering the steps of cleaning an AR-15 and a G***k 19, two common fi****ms that you will encounter at our range days. If you are new to fi****ms or looking to improve your current skills this meeting will be a good resource for you. Attendance at this meeting will be mandatory for our firearm cleaning workshop on the 28th. New members are always welcome and there are no restrictions or requirements to attend.

Being ready to effectively treat potential injuries is crucial, especially so when fi****ms are involved. We'll be discussing general first aid for your regular life as well as how to treat any firearm-related injuries. We will also go over how to prepare an IFAK (individual first-aid kit) and what you should consider carrying with you for different situations. New members are always welcome and there are no restrictions or requirements to attend. Please bear in mind that meetings are a requirement to join range days, and attendance is tracked for future events.

As a result of logistical concerns, the Davis Recreational Marksmanship Society wishes to announce the postponement of the start of activities until Winter Quarter 2019. While we understand that this may be a disappointment to many current and prospective members, the club's officers believe this to be the best path forward so as to ensure the safety of its participants as well as to maintain long-term interest in the club. If you have any specific questions, please direct them to one of our officers or message the page.

The Davis Recreational Marksmanship Society is thrilled to announce an upcoming range trip for the new school year. The club will be providing equipment and training.

Unfortunately, to see this happen, we need a volunteer to fulfill an officer position with the club. Responsibilities are few but you’ll help make this exciting and fun sport more accessible to UC Davis students.
