I want to share a big thank-you to Peregrine School for sponsoring the New Parent Support Group I lead each Wednesday morning. Their commitment to supporting infants and families during those early months truly shows, and I’m grateful for their investment in new parents in our community.
Peregrine School now offers infant care beginning at six months of age. Families can choose between full-week or part-week schedules, making it easier to find childcare options that works for their routines. Their infant classrooms are led by skilled, experienced educators who are passionate about supporting babies in a safe, loving, and stimulating environment.
What really sets Peregrine apart is their thoughtful approach to early learning, even for their youngest students. As they explain on their website, infants are immersed in language and communication through music, storytelling, dramatic play, and interactive experiences. Teachers narrate infants’ play to build early communication skills while also introducing Spanish and Mandarin through songs, rhymes, and playful activities.
Infants at Peregrine are encouraged to explore creativity in many forms — from art and music to gardening and collaborative projects. With gentle guidance from their teachers, they learn by observing one another, participating together, and building social connections from the very start.
With campuses located in both South Davis and West Davis, Peregrine makes high-quality early childhood education accessible to families across the community.
They currently have availability and are welcoming families to schedule a tour. I recently visited the South Davis location and came away truly impressed by the staff, the learning spaces, and the overall atmosphere. It’s easy to see that the children are well supported and cared for.
If you’re beginning to look at infant care options — or just want to learn more — take the opportunity to explore what Peregrine has to offer.

I am grateful to welcome The Peregrine School in Davis as a new sponsor of the New Parent Group.
Peregrine School now offers infant care starting at just six months old. With both full-week and partial-week options available, families can choose the schedule that best fits their needs. The Peregrine teaching teams are highly qualified, experienced, and deeply committed to creating a nurturing, engaging environment for even the youngest learners.
Peregrine’s approach to early learning is truly special. As their website describes:
“We explore language through songs, stories, puppet shows, drama, and more. Teachers ‘sportscast’ as infants play, helping them learn to communicate with each other. Teachers also introduce Spanish and Mandarin through songs, rhymes, and games.
Like all Peregrinos, infants can be artists and gardeners, actors and musicians. Assisted by their teachers, they make and remake their world on a daily or weekly basis. In the process, they learn by watching each other, contributing to mutual projects, and socializing.”
Peregrine School has two convenient locations — one in South Davis and one in West Davis — making high-quality early childhood education accessible to families throughout our community.
They currently have openings available and would love to welcome you for a tour! I recently toured the South Davis campus and was really impressed with the staff, the classrooms, and the overall setting. Little ones really thrive there.
If you’re exploring childcare options or simply curious about their program, this is a wonderful time to learn more.

“American College of Obstetricians and
Gynecologists (ACOG) reaffirms the safety and benefits of acetaminophen use during pregnancy. More than two decades of research have found no causal link between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and autism, ADHD, or intellectual disability in children. Acetaminophen continues to be an important and safe option for managing pain and fever in pregnancy — conditions that can pose serious risks to pregnant patients and their fetuses if left untreated. “It's not just about the glow, the cravings, or the baby bump. The very core of a woman - her brain - can undergo profound changes (during pregnancy). The brain's very architectural design, its structure, functions, and internal connectivity, are all recalibrated. Scientists believe that this neural overhaul equips a new mother with some nearly superhuman abilities: the precision to distinguish her own child among a sea of faces; an enhanced auditory sense to detect the softest of whimpers; and the unparalleled capacity to empathize with her newborn, comprehending their needs and emotions based solely on non-verbal cues.
Recent studies have unveiled that a mother can carry fragments of her children's DNA in her bloodstream for years after giving birth. And get this: a mother's brain can harbor parts of her children's DNA for life.
It's fascinating to consider how these effects might influence a mother's thoughts, feelings, and actions. And while science has much to uncover, it's clear that the connection between mother and child is ever deeper than thought.”
