We're only one week away from the UC Davis Equine Health Symposium, hosted by the Equine Medicine Club at UC Davis! The schedule has been updated with an option to tour the brand new All Species Imaging Center at the UCD Veterinary Hospital. We hope you will join us for what promises to be an exciting and educational day all about horses!

Registration for the 2026 Equine Health Symposium is still open and we are so excited to update our schedule to reflect the addition of a tour of the new All Species Imaging Center to our afternoon rotations! Intended for horse owners, horse enthusiasts and the like, this day features informative lectures in the morning and interactive demonstrations in the afternoon presented by our esteemed equine faculty and staff here at the UC Davis Large Animal Hospital. Come join us to learn more about equine health, ask any questions at our "Ask a Vet" table at lunch, and enter the raffle to win fun prizes! CONGRATULATIONS to our chapter members and officers Morgan Lunn, Hannah Morton, and Olivia Bodner on their achievements and recognition at this year’s AAEP Convention in Denver! 🎉

🐴 Morgan Lunn took home the Dr. Bill Rood Leadership Scholarship in recognition of her outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and dedication to equine veterinary medicine.

🐴 Hannah Morton was a recipient of the inaugural Tennessee Equine Hospital Scholarship for her exceptional academic and extracurricular achievements.

🐴 Olivia Bodner received recognition for her fascinating case report which was chosen as a winner of the 2025 Student and New Graduate Case Study Competition.

We are so proud of you all for your achievements! Thank you to the AAEP and The Foundation for the Horse for recognizing our outstanding students! 🏆

We had such a fantastic time and learned so much this past weekend at our AAEP Dentistry Workshop! We are so grateful to Dr. Bruce Whittle, Dr. Annalyssa Campbell, our faculty and staff here at UC Davis, and the American Association of Equine Practitioners for this incredible opportunity!!! 🐴🦷

This past weekend, we were lucky enough to send 10 of our third year members to Lexington, Kentucky to attend the Opportunities in Equine Practixe Seminar (OEPS)! This event included a full weekend of hands-on wet labs, racetrack and breeding farm tours, networking opportunities and social events in the evenings. We all had such a great time and we are so thankful for Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital and Hagyard Equine Medical Institute for putting on such an incredible event. We would also like to thank all of the practices, sponsors and AAEP for making these networking opportunities possible for our students. It was definitely a weekend to remember!

Our club was fortunate enough to be able to send 6 third year members out to Lexington, Kentucky to go to OEPS - Opportunities in Equine Practice Seminar! The purpose of the seminar is to provide third year equine students with the opportunity to speak with practices all over the country and expose them to all the opportunities available in equine medicine! We got to do a few wetlabs like dental floating, ultrasound, lameness, and colic work ups. We also got to go on tours of the two largest equine hospitals in Kentucky: Hagyard, and Rood and Riddle. We also got to tour large thoroughbred facilities like Winstar, Lane’s End, Three Chimneys and Spy Coast!

We were so lucky to be joined by some amazing former students for a virtual dinner talk discussing all the ins and outs of post-grad life for equine vets! Thank you all for your time and wisdom! Ps- you’re doing incredible out there 👏🩺🐴
