This darling little molly mule didn't want to miss out on the fun! While most of the Horse Barn crew was away representing UC Davis at Bishop Mule Days, our mare Secret Wind decided it was time to have her mule, Sage. She is a thoroughbred molly by our jack, UCD Actions Protege, and is our last foal of the year!
Remember that you can meet all of these young ones at our Sale Showcase and Open House coming up on June 20! Although the foals born this year will not be the ones in the sale ring, you will still have the chance to visit with them and get a sneak peek at who will be for sale June 2027!

Did you know the UC Davis Horse Barn has a long-standing history of producing high-quality horses and mules for over 90 years? For decades, our equine breeding program gives undergraduate students invaluable hands-on experiences in equine production. Through Horse Barn internships, UC Davis undergrads are involved with every step of the process from collecting stallions, breeding mares, assisting with foaling, and training the young horses and mules from day one. All of this hard work produces the yearlings that we offer at our Annual Production Sale and proceeds go toward supporting the future of these student opportunities for decades to come! You can find more information about the Horse Barn's rich history on our website.
