Curious about what it takes to build a collection of 8 million insect specimens? 🐛

Visit the Bohart Museum’s free open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20.

Guilherme Maia Silva ’19 is the entrepreneur behind MILK-ish, a new plant-based milk alternative made from watermelon seeds. Drawing on his UC Davis plant science education, Silva developed a product that uses no added sugar and has a lower water impact than other plant-based milks.

What began as an idea to explore less resource-intensive ingredients has grown into a brand carried by 100 retailers across California.
