Thank you so so much to everyone who participated in our first Chi Omega Wish Walk! 🌟 We were able to raise over $10,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, funding another wish!! 💙 We also had a total of 3,806 miles walked!! 🤍

As Chi Omega women, we hold ourselves to a higher standard. “To speak kindly, to act sincerely, to choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and consciousness demand.” We acknowledge our privilege and we are proud to use our voices and our platform to amplify that of others, encourage education, and provide resources.

We would like to thank each and everyone of you who have helped us reach this goal. With your help, we have been able to donate $5,850 that has gone towards The Black Lives Matter Foundation, the NAACP, and The National Black Justice Coalition.

And as an organization of purposeful women, we cannot stay silent on the injustices that black Americans throughout our country’s history have endured and continue to endure today. Silence on this issue is a privilege. We encourage our members to condemn acts of hatred, bigotry, and violence. We encourage our Sisters to speak out against acts of racism and educate themselves on the issues at hand. We expect our members to promote inclusion and diversity in all areas of their lives: on their campuses, in their chapters, within their friend groups, and around their kitchen tables.
If we are to keep Chi Omega's "welfare ever at heart," it begins and ends with the safety of our individual members and our communities. We must take steps toward these goals by educating ourselves and choosing to take part in these conversations. This serves as our starting point for a larger conversation and resources to come, and as a charge for each of you to join us in speaking up.” -

We are privileged here at the Omicron Kappa chapter to have a platform where we can raise our voices. We condemn all acts of institutionalized violence and racial prejudice against Black communities, and we reiterate our solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. However, we recognize that a singular statement of support is, by no measure, enough.
