Reminder: All Murray County Jr. Livestock Show Nominations are due tomorrow 12/15 to Mr. Sapp by 3:00 PM or to the Murray County Extension Office by the close of business. If nominations are not submitted tomorrow the exhibitor and animals will not be allowed to show.

Murray County Jr. Livestock Show entry forms have been handed out to those students that Mr. Sapp knows have livestock. If you have livestock, and Mr. Sapp is unaware, please contact him at the high school for entry information. Entry forms and money are due to Mr. Sapp or turned into the Murray County Extension Office by Monday 12/15/2025.

The Year of Youth in Agriculture Spotlight 🌟

Lilly Keenan is a senior at Davis High School and has been involved in agriculture for years on her family's cow/calf operation. She is passionate about exhibiting swing, goats and now sheep.

Lilly says her greatest achievement in the show right was exhibiting the Breed Champion Hampshire Ewe in the Tulsa State Fair Open Lamb Show, as well as the 4th Overall Registered Ewe at the Arizona National Livestock Show in 2024.

Outside of the show ring, Lilly has been very active in her FFA chapter. She is serving her second term as chapter President and striving to serve all members in her chapter and community. Lilly was also selected to the Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Oklahoma Leading Youth Agricultural class of 2025.

Lilly plans to attend East Central University to earn a degree in Elementary Education. She hopes to be able to go back into the classroom and teach Oklahoma youth about Agriculture!

These 3 boys competed at the Davis Regional Greenhand Quiz Contest this evening. Kutter Buckaloo & Samuel Suther were both in the top 10 of the written test and qualified for the main stage. Out of those 10 students, Samuel Suther placed 2nd Overall!

Yesterday, the Davis FFA Officers along with other students from Davis High School had the opportunity to plant a sapling from the Survivor Tree that withstood the devastation of the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. This planting was a part of the “Journey of Hope” presentation at Davis High School through the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum as a part of the 30th Anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. Their goal is to have a sapling planted in all 77 counties of Oklahoma.

Last Wednesday after school, students had the opportunity to go out and collect both native and introduced grasses for their Murray County Fair projects.
