Hi all of you DSHS grads and classmates. The scholarship created by the Class of 1973 this past year, was awarded at the recent 2024 Senior Awards program in Davis. Congratulations go out to future UC Santa Cruz Banana Slug, Iyrna Monastyrska. More information is attached below.

Greetings! We are excited to announce the final result by our classmates to raise funds for the DSHS Class of 1973 Memorial Scholarship. Donations totaled $4,650 - we did this memorial fund effort proud indeed!
The one-time DSHS Class of 1973 Memorial Scholarship will be awarded this spring to a DSHS graduating senior who participated in DSHS school-related activities during high school.

Warmest holiday wishes to you as we begin to look back over 2023 and sharing an update that the amount we've collectively raised to date is now $3,150 – a fantastic response by our class!

Greetings! A reminder ~ tax deductible donations can still be made to our memorial scholarship fund announce earlier this month and due by December 31, 2023. Our current amount raised to date = $1,700 – we’re hoping to increase further – thanks to those who have contributed already!

• Student must have demonstrated involvement in DSHS school-related activities. Application Requirements
• A 250-word essay describing your participation in DSHS school-related activities (clubs, athletics, music, drama, special events, student government, school spirit, HUB, yearbook, etc.) and explain why you chose to participate in those activities. Selection Process • Application must be emailed to the Career Center by the stated deadline.
• The high school’s Scholarship Selection Committee will review the applications and choose the recipient. Location of Funds
• Funds will be deposited in the DSHS scholarship account. The recipient will receive the funds at the end of the school year (May/June 2024).

Hello – a few details for those planning to attend the 50th reunion in just a couple of weeks now!

May 6, 2023 ~ 5pm to 10pm

~ Our positive attendance numbers will allow us to include some al fresco patio dining. The weather forecast at the moment is looking to be beautiful! Our event will be self-seating so you can choose inside or outside that evening. As always, with unsettled weather a possibility, please plan to include a light jacket should it cool off. Just in case, outdoor heaters will be available for deployment as needed...and yes, if need be, we can all fit inside as well!

~ Stonegate Country Club has approximately 50 assigned parking spaces. Disabled Person Parking spaces are limited. There is overflow parking out on Lake Blvd. requiring a short walk from the street – perhaps think about dropping someone off at the curb of the clubhouse entrance.

~ Both Uber and Lyft appear to be available in town. We found Lyft appears to be more readily available and less expensive. Please check out both apps ahead of time. Taxi service is limited in the local Davis area.

~ A dedicated memorial table will be present with framed photos of classmates confirmed as no longer with us. Please feel free to bring your own notes or small mementos to add to our collective homage to those from our class now gone but certainly not forgotten.

~ Covid precautions - while masks will not be required for guests at the event, please do feel free to do what works best for your own comfort level. The caterers will be protected while serving all food & beverages at the buffet and bar to avoid cross contamination. We do simply ask for common sense self-assessment on this topic.

~ At the moment, we only have 1 volunteer event photographer who is also a guest but not a classmate. With no budget allotted for a professional photographer, we whole heartedly ask for & welcome participation from all in taking some pics to memorialize our time together. Towards this short-resourced effort, you will see small tabletop sandwich boards with details towards what will be a group effort to collect photo memories for all.
