Peregrine Sundays is a new thing we hope is of benefit to our community of families at West & South, preschool & elem alike. Here’s where the idea came from and what it is!

My own kid is 12 now (nearly 13) but man I can recall many a daunting Davis Sunday morning during the preschool & early elem years where I thought, “Uh-oh, no soccer game, no Farmers Market today— goodness, what will we even DO today?” Sundays sometimes seemed awful long to me!

Well, that’s where we hope Peregrine Sundays comes in. We will be offering childcare on select mornings as well as a quiet room for parents who want to catch up on work, email, or perhaps write the next Great American Novel. We’ll provide some coffee and pastries in that room for you to enjoy while you’re there.

If you need to squeeze in some weekend errands, it’s also ok to drop off on Peregrine Sundays. Of course, you’re also welcome to hang out in the garden and play with your kiddo, too. We envision this as a flexible sort of time that folks will help us figure out how best to utilize.

In the future, we may offer classes or workshops, depending on what those who come to Peregrine Sundays would like. Could be art classes in ceramics or calligraphy, writers workshops, parent forums, book clubs, gardening time, tutoring for kids... I don’t know! What would YOU like to teach or use Peregrine Sundays for??

So, join us starting 11/2 and again on 11/9 to pilot this idea. The first two will be at South, but in the future we will host at West. We just hope it’s useful and enjoyable for you and your family. [email protected] if you have any questions or to reserve a spot. See you on Sundays!
