It is with a heavy heart to inform you that Bernice Tom Shihan has passed away. She was a pioneer in the aikido world. Tom Sensei first traveled to Japan in 1975 and spent four years studying extensively in the Iwama dojo under Morihiro Saito Shihan. Her legacy is bringing back that knowledge to the United States and the world for the last four and a half decades. May her memory be a blessing.
